“LSU 31 Auburn 24
This may be a bold statement but to me, this is the biggest game of the year. Win this game, and you build some momentum for a tough October/early November stretch. Lose this game and seeing what lies ahead makes me afraid this could go sideways in a hurry. It's Bryan Harsin's SEC game and it's a night game in Death Valley.
All that said, if you're going to break the losing streak in Baton Rouge, why not do it in a night game?
It would be great for Auburn to run the ball more but seeing opposing defenses keying in on that quite a bit plus issues on the offensive line has made life tough for Tank Bigsby and company. If Auburn is going to win this game, they are going to have to do it through the air, regardless of who is QB1. Will we see more Elijah Canion who made 2 big catches on the game-winning drive and other WRs have a bigger role this week?
Harsin has shown in his first 4 weeks that he's not afraid to make a big change when and where he sees fits (firing a coach) and doing what he did last Saturday in the 3rd Quarter pulling Bo Nix. It was the spark the team desperately needed. I'm concerned for Auburn's defense as LSU had multiple big plays for TDs in their win over Miss State last weekend and I'm sure they will take those kind of shots downfield again Saturday night. It's been well documented, Auburn hasn't won in Baton Rouge since 1999. I said this 2 weeks prior to the Penn State game and I'll say it again, until Auburn wins one of these kind of games on the road, I'm not picking the Tigers to win. ”
