Season openers, the NFC South, rookie quarterbacks, and new head coaches are all notoriously hard to predict. That said, there is enough optimism buzzing around the Carolina Panthers that it is hard to imagine them dropping a complete dud against the Desmond Ridder led Atlanta Falcons. In typical Panthers fashion, I think this game is going to be incredibly close unless it credibly is not. It's Week 1, I'm going to believe in Carolina until they tell me I shouldn't. A 3.5 point spread is basically a coin flip anyway, so believe in whichever team you love, just don't bet the over this week.
